Operations at LifeLine

LifeLine's Operations Center

All the central functions of our company are located at our Corporate Headquarters located at 11 State Street in Woburn, MA. Here you will find our Corporate Offices, Operations & Dispatch Center, Institute of EMS & Allied Health Professions Training Center, Vehicle Maintenance Facilities, Auto body shop as well as the Woburn Field Staff Division.

The Operations Center is staffed and operational 24/7 - 365 days per year by professional tele-communicators and dispatchers, trained to gather information related to routine transports and medical emergencies. This Center is equipped with multiple computer servers, power back up systems, phone recording devices and the latest in radio and phone communication technology.

The Center operates under the ZOLL Data System Software package. This fully integrated ambulance software package includes call taking & dispatching as well as billing & collections. Additionally, we are able to provide a multitude of data and voice recordings and produce a wide range of statistical reports to satisfy any of our client needs.

The Center is also equipped with “Street Eagle” a Vehicle Location & Tracking System, which provides instant on demand vehicle tracking utilizing the newest variation of google maps and vehicle traffic integration. These units are also installed in every LifeLine vehicle.  They are equipped with a driver operability reporting module which provides a myriad of reports on the driver’s speeds, braking, turning and other operational factors that allow management to ensure our operators are the best drivers on the road.

In addition, each vehicle is equipped with “EMS Anywhere”, a mobile data terminal. This allows the Dispatcher to send the transport data directly to the android device in the vehicle; the crew then acknowledges this and the device quickly becomes a navigational GPS, showing the driver the direct route to the location, taking in account the traffic situations.  When occupied with a patient, the device transmits a signal back to the dispatcher updating the ZOLL System and then shows the driver the quickest route to the destination, again based upon the traffic congestion.
